After announcing three one-off Scrambler customs yesterday (the Artika, the Revolution and the Peace Sixty2), Ducati added another surprise for its Verona Motor Bike Expo stage with the draXter, a drag racing concept bike based on the XDiavel.
Developed by the Ducati Design Center’s Advanced Design area, the draXter takes the XDiavel cruiser closer to the company’s racing heritage. The 1262cc engine with Desmodromic Variable Timing and frame are the same as the XDiavel’s, but Ducati swapped the cruiser’s suspension and brakes with the same components used on the Panigale.
Low handlebars, extremely rear-set foot pegs and padding on the tank provide a more drag-focused riding posture. Ducati also swapped out the XDiavel’s twin pipes for a single, downward facing Termignoni exhaust. Other changes include a larger front fender and radiator cover. Finishing things off are yellow highlights including a large #90 acknowledging Ducati’s 90th anniversary this year.
At the moment, the draXter is only a concept. Let us know in the comments if you’d like to see a production version.
